STARTALK 2012
The USOE STARTALK Chinese Teacher Training programs provide expert guidance in dual language immersion teaching strategies to approximately fifty participants currently teaching in preK-6 elementary Chinese immersion classrooms. Participants who complete either or both of these intensive week-long programs will have the unique opportunity to work with national experts, team leaders, and experienced peers as they perfect their Chinese immersion teaching skills, focusing on comprehensible input. Each retreat, either June 11-14 or June 18-21, 2012, provides a different prism for participants to look through as they investigate the best methods for teaching literacy and content in a dual language immersion classroom. An administrative training session is also planned for June 8th that investigates how to build and sustain dual language immersion programs.
